A straightforward recruitment interview with Tadeo!
The Safran group uses Tadeo to conduct an interview with a deaf applicant.
A discussion with Marine Fredureau, Human Resources officer.
« With Tadeo, a smooth job interview ! »
Of Mrs Marine FREDUREAU - Human Resources officer.
The Safran group used Tadeo to conduct a recruitment interview with a deaf person. A Q&A with Marine Fredureau, HR project manager.
We wanted to interview a deaf applicant. His profile and skills interested us. We had already seen him six months ago for another job position, but we had not chosen him. At the time, he had spent his interview with a French Sign Language (LSF) interpreter. We had gone through an organization located far from our offices. For this second interview, for a different job position, we wanted to proceed in another way. We contacted the diversity division at the group's headquarters, which sent us several solutions, including Tadeo.
Why did you choose Tadeo specifically ?
First, we told ourselves that the managers would be reassured to know that Tadeo could be installed to adapt the position of this deaf applicant. We were sure that the communication would be fluid for everyone. In addition, a head office colleague who used Tadeo for two of his employees strongly recommended it. Finally, we particularly appreciated the support provided by the Tadeo team.
How did the candidate react ?
We warned him before the interview. One of his friends who had used Tadeo showed him. He was especially surprised and happy that we took this step, because on the one hand, he had had to find and pay for an interpreter himself in the past for interviews. And on the other hand, because it is not so easy to find an interpreter who knows the technical language of the trade, necessary for the interview.
How did the interview go on your side ?
We were able to have a face-to-face conversation. Thanks to the webcam, the interpreter is very discrete and communication flows well. The interaction was much easier than during the first interview, where the physical presence of an interpreter de facto establishes a triangular relationship that takes away some spontaneity. For the managers who were present, Tadeo made it possible to bring out “the human” . If we hire this deaf person, we will install Tadeo for sure.
